I adore this time of year. The air is crisp and fresh, and just cool enough that you can play without getting hot. And that’s what I was able to do with John and Marnie’s family this afternoon. We all headed down to Esther Short Park and had a ball. They were all good sports – willing to try anything. (And their dog was fabulous, too!) So thanks, you guys, for making it so much fun. I’ve been sitting here editing photos this evening just grinning at your pictures. Can’t wait to show you more!

Oh what a precious bundle I was able to photograph yesterday! David and Claire welcomed their little one to our world 16 days ago. I know it’s a trite statement, but you really DO forget how little they are. Thank you, you two, for allowing my father and I to come take pictures. The time will be treasured. Your daughter is beautiful.

There are so many times I love to just grab my camera and go exploring. I had the opportunity today to do just that, and our family found ourselves over by Sunset Falls at about sunset. Wow. What a beautiful place. The one lane, lonely road provided me the ability to yell, “STOP!” then jump out and take a picture now and again, lol. The detail of the world around us humbles me, and there were a few times I found myself fighting tears, just for the glory of it all.

My father and I were able to spend Friday evening at a private airfield with three gentlemen, five classic cars and three airplanes. And what a ride it was! I’ve never been much of a car buff, but after seeing the excitement these men had for restoration, the incredible beauty of the work they’ve done, and the sleek lines of these cars, I came away with a smile and a greater appreciation for the time spent at this art of saving history. My dad focused on the bigger picture, so I zoomed in with the 85mm and caught some of the amazing details. Thank you, men, for your time, for sharing your talent, and for teaching me a thing or two! I really enjoyed myself, and can’t wait to get the rest of these edited up for you.
