I was so happy to be able to shoot portraits at our church banquet this weekend. And it was double fun because my dad joined me on this one. I couldn’t ask for a sweeter group of people to gather with on a December Friday night. I can’t wait to show you all your pictures!

My dad let me tag along on another shoot this morning, I was able to meet little Claire and her friend Maggie. I adore photographing children, and finding out what makes them smile, for each and every child is different. Getting down on their level and playing for a bit is one of the best ways to spend a Saturday morning, in my opinion.
So thank you, little one, for sharing smiles with me today. I’m still carrying them with me!

Child two and three have been completed for our holiday cards, and MY what an adventure they were. I love kids, and I love trying to capture the true personalities they each have. My own are no exception. What a joy. What a bundle of giggles.

And here’s a storyboard of the three of them all together.

The first of three installments was completed this afternoon at our house in valiant attempts to mail out photo card to friends and family this Christmas. My littlest boy was thrilled to death to play with candy canes and Christmas trees, and to wear “big daddy goin’ to work clothes.” And I must admit, we had a ball together.

This next one just kills me, him giving me the what for about the ornaments, lol.

For Christmas orders, that is. I’ve enjoyed my time with each and every one of you clients, and don’t want you to miss out on any gifts you might be planning on for loved ones this year. Time is running very short for you to receive print orders in time for Christmas. Give me a jingle in the next week if you would like pictures under the tree. Thank you!

I had some time to kill this morning due to a postponed photo shoot, so I headed out to our local train depot. The snow was falling, the wind blustering, and I ignored it all because I was having so much fun. Honestly, I love this type of photography – trying to capture the spirit of a place. I wouldn’t have been surprised if I had gotten hauled off by the police for all the crawling around that little place I did snapping pictures of everything like I was casing it for evil intent in the future. But I survived, and am thrilled to death by the pictures I have for my boys because of it. Standing four feet from the track, camera in hand, and feeling the rush of air as the train went whistling by made me feel like a kid all over again.
