I did an impromptu photo shoot with my youngest yesterday during a battle of the wills, lol. This month he turned three, and it’s been my goal to capture each child in a more formal shoot the month of their birthday. Since we were spending so much time together during our battle, I figured I might as well take advantage of his sweet face. I’m so glad I did! And they’ve inspired a new storyboard set as well.

And here’s one I put together after I reworked some portraits from this past summer. Ken and Mary, I’ll be printing this 12×12 for you! Hope you enjoy.

I was able to meet up with Mark and Tami’s kids again today and have a little fun. Kids are so unexpected in what they will do and say that it makes each and every shoot different, yet at the same time so much fun. It’s why they’re my favorite thing in the world to photograph. Most of the time they know exactly what it is they’re supposed to do, so getting them to stop doing that to relax and show their true personalities is key. Booger sandwiches, frog princes and belly button talk usually does the trick, lol.
Thanks for letting me play with you all!

The artistic display of photos is so important, and I’ve been working on a line of products that makes that displaying fun – storyboards. This weekend my first is debuting with many more to follow in the coming days. My mind is teeming with ideas as I’ve been thinking through how to get more of our own photos on the walls here at home. These are things I will be offering to my clients as well, so I’m excited to be increasing service!

Here is my favorite so far of my son. Isn’t it just plain fun?!!

I had a lot of fun tagging along with my dad on this shoot with Gary’s family. What a great bunch, and what great stories they had to share! I know I was laughing right along with them as they told of a few of their “adventures.” I think I snapped this first one during the whole turning-around-the-rental-car-in-Yellowstone story, lol. And then their tales of keeping in touch while the girls are away at school. You guys were awesome, and such good sports, too! Thanks for sharing with us!

I’ve been remiss in posting some pictures from recent photo shoots! This dear gal I was able to meet awhile back, and what an honor it was! Her children are precious, and the youngest might even be called a bit precocious, lol. Such fun I had with them all!

I don’t think I’ve mentioned here that I’ve begun selling stock photography for scrapbookers. I’m an avid digital scrapbooker, and in all honesty it’s what has pushed me as far into photography as I’ve gotten. I’ve found that as scrapbooker, there are times I want to document or remember a certain emotion or situation that just needs a special picture. So I’ve been collecting things on certain themes and putting them together to help others do the same. Below are some of my recent kits that are for sale online at Scrapbook Graphics.

Whew, it’s been a crazy holiday season! But I think we’re settling back into normal life here finally, and that means pictures – just a few random images from today. The first, my husband making breakfast this morning. Yum! Doesn’t it look good? And what man do you know who would cook breakfast for the family while his wife stood around documenting every detail?

And then we were out and about, and stopped by the bank. While waiting, I noticed the wall – they painted it!!! There was absolutely no way I was going to NOT take pictures of its vibrance. Wow – tooo much fun! Not for my daughter who forgot her coat, but she really wasn’t out there too long. About three minutes, I think. Such suffering the children of photographers endure.

But she got even once she got warmed up:

I love my kids.
