Can you resist this sun-washed face with all it’s freckles? This is one of our sweet neighbors yesterday, playing outside with Fidget and the gang. Talk about spunk . . .

Now I’m off to edit. SO many pictures, so little time . . . the joy of my life to save memories such as these.

Just a few quick images from the parade. I didn’t get all that many, as my three munchkins were scrambling for the tossed candy and t-shirts and dishsoap and flyers and anything else that came from those marching in the parade. If you’ve never been to a small-town parade you’re certainly missing out. Community is out for display in vibrant colors.

And then the promised toilet paper toss. (For those of you who don’t know, Camas has a HUGE paper mill. . . Guess what they make? Yeah.)

Now I must say this. As we were headed back to the car to drop our stash before the bathtub races, we passed a family on the street going the other direction. They were not dressed for the parade, nor did they really seem like they were from the immediate area. It was confirmed when I heard the boy ask, “Mom, why is everyone carrying toilet paper?!!” and then hearing the mother’s quite bewildered reply. “I really don’t have any idea.”

And me being me started thinking of all the people driving through town from out-of-town, most likely wondering at the strangeness of a place where everyone (EVERYONE!) carries rolls of toilet paper around while sporting happy smiles of contentment. Hmmm. . . .

;)

Camas Days rocks. There’s just no other way to say it. We got to watch the annual bathtub races today – cast iron tubs and three willing souls, plus a fire department filling them up with ice cold water each slalom run. I think they ended up with 16 teams and ran a double elimination so the fun lasted SOOO long.

The parade just beforehand was just as good. Only in Camas do they throw toilet paper rolls to the cheering crowd.

Here some from the races. I hope to get up parade pictures in a day or two. Enjoy!!! It was an absolute hoot to watch. There’s a whole gallery of images up in the featured area of my site. (And if you were there racing, email me – I’d love to email you your images!)

If you go to the end of the world then go up, you’re sure to hit heaven. But on the way by you’ll pass Brenda’s house. Seriously, this gal lives at the top of the hill just around the corner from Lake Merwin, and it’s gorgeous. Countless deer, wildflowers, mountains and valleys. It was so much fun to get there, and then the time we spent together was even better. Brenda’s an accountant, but she’s also traveled the world. What a raft of experiences, and what a great take on life. And she knows how to brew a mean cup of coffee, too!

Brenda, I seriously had a great time getting to know you better. I’m SO envious of your corner of the county! And I LOVE that you’re a Treky. Boldly go!

This bugger will be the death of me some day.

THIS one will be the death of someone else. . . .

Happy Friday! Hope it starts with a smile.

The precious tiny little feet, the tiny hands, the little mouth. Oh my, what I time I had today with this little guy. I’m so thankful his momma and big brother let me play with him. And I’m so glad he finally gave up and fell asleep, lol. What a bundle of snuggly, cozy love!

And I think this is one of my favorites. . .

Thank you, Justin and Sue! Your little one is blessed to have you as his parents.

Who doesn’t love something free?!! I’m launching a contest here on the blog to give YOU the opportunity for a free session.

For real? Yes!! It can be a family, child, high school senior, couple, group of friends, business partners, or even a favorite location. I’ll include an 11×14 print for your wall and provide an online gallery for your friends and family to view your proofs. The session will be held on Friday, August 22 or Saturday, August 23 in the Vancouver, Washington area.

How to win? Just leave a comment here on this post by August 12 as to why you need a portrait session (the more creative the better!). My family will vote on your comments and choose a winner by August 15. Enter as many times as you want!

It’s my blog and I can indulge myself, lol. The three kids had a ball riding around outside today, and I chugged after them shooting pics and carrying water bottles. Here are my two favorites from our time:

Happy Summer!!! It’s the best time of year to have kids, isn’t it? The splashing, the running, the laughter ALL. DAY.LONG.

Our littlest boy Fidget is in heaven today. He is now the proud owner of a trike PLUS a helmet with flames:

I’m in heaven too, because you KNOW that trike will be in a photo shoot or two. The dump truck o’ love is feeling the new trike’s presence. Isn’t this funny with it so forlorn and forgotten looking?

And in an effort to keep things real, here’s a look at our typical Saturday morning. I was sitting at the computer editing, drinking coffee when the kids descended upon their father. I love these sweet squishy moments. I love that I caught it, too, because this is a moment the kids will tell their kids about. (And most likely HAVE these moments with their kids, too. If you play with your kids, they’ll play with theirs. . . Start a generational thing!!!)

And then just a few sweet shots from our “out-and-about-weekend” here. We definitely need more weekends like this past one.

(She really is happy here, I promise. I asked her to look moody, so the frames before and after were her trying to figure out the “moody” look with a guffaw on her face. Too much fun.)

I’ve just been finishing up proofs for Isaac and Jessica, and had to share a few more. I’ve loving the sun-washed look of some of them.

And just a couple artsy ones:
