I love this season – the smells, all the colors, all the briskness of the air. This was Monday:

And this was some more of Monday. I can’t get enough of her cuteness. . .

And see this little moment? I love these times.

And I think this one about sums it up for me. She’s an angel. *sigh*

Thank you again, you guys. I can’t wait for you to see them all next week!

Hope you have something wonderful planned! We’re excited about ours. . .

I was able to spend some time today with a little treasure – who is now ONE! Happy birthday, little sweetie! You’ve grown so much since last year. Thank you for the fun today! You’re mommy and daddy are SO blessed to have you.

She makes my heart skip a beat.

Our homeschooled munchkins get plenty of pictures taken throughout the year, but I really try to have one afternoon set aside for them to get their official “school pictures” done. Today the weather was absolutely perfect, so off we went. We all had a much needed carefree, fun time together. It’s so good to laugh, especially when you can do it with family.

There were so many moments like this:

More to come in the next few days. Tonight I’m just relishing the happiness.

Still getting caught up around here. I don’t know what it is about homeschooling this year, but it is completely FILLING my days. Aigh! It’s made my turnaround rate a little slower than I would like on edits, but I’m not kidding when I say the shoots I’ve been able to do I’ve cherished all the more.

Take for instance this shoot from two weekends ago. Oh Sue, what a joy your family is!!! And what an incredible group of cousins we had to work with – all seven of them. Thank you thank you thank you for letting me play. Here’s another group of edits for you. I’m hoping the rest will be done by tomorrow evening.

And how can you not love this sun-washed moment:

This next one cracks me up. Hope mom doesn’t mind them making faces at each other. . . I think they thought it was pretty funny, heehee.

One more picture to share from my time with Taylor on Sunday . . . I love the light on her face, the soft smile, and the crazy cool lines.

My dad got a phone call last week from an amazing gal at Blackstone Restaurant, and referred the work they were needing done to me. Annette and I chatted that same afternoon. I met with her and two days later was able to deliver some framed, matted prints to them for their booth at the Vancouver Bridal Show this past weekend.

First let me say the restaurant blew me away. I had seen it before, smelled their wonderful grill while working for another client across the parking lot, but had never been inside. Have I been missing out or what?!! It’s a gorgeous place right on 164th Avenue here in Vancouver. They’re now booking events, rehearsal dinners, parties, and providing catering services to the local area. They have live music on the weekends. . . . can you tell I loved it? I’ll be working with them as their event photographer anytime the need arises, and am honored at the privilege!

Here’s a peek at the inside, but trust me – you need to check it out for yourself.

Thank you, Annette! I hope things went amazingly well this weekend for you at the show.

I love meeting people. I think I’ve said that before. I think I say that every day, lol. In this photography business it’s been my practice to establish a relationship with people that starts even before the shoot, meeting with them to catch their vision and see what they like and what makes them tick and from there plan a location and schedule the actual shoot.

Well, for yesterday’s shoot it all went a bit wonky, and because of my crazy week filled with shoots I didn’t get to meet Taylor or her mom until we met at the park to take pictures. What a gal, what a family. Seriously, I know I say that about everyone, but Taylor is something special. I can honestly say I’ve never met a gal her age with such artistic talent. I know her future is rich, no matter what it is she decides to take on.

Here are just a a few sneak peeks from our session in the rain. (And yeah, what gal do you know who can look this good sopping wet?!!)

Taylor, thank you SO much for such a fun time. You certainly won my heart. I’ll let you know as soon as the rest of your pictures are ready for you!

I should know better. I really should. We got the kids a laptop for school. They homeschool and half their stuff is online, and I don’t want them messing with my desktop, lol. TOO much good client stuff I’m usually in the middle of to give up my precious moments here and there through out the day to edit. . . .

But back to laptops. I got the bright idea to try editing on it while curled up on the couch watching television in the evenings. Rather, THIS evening. Doesn’t that sound cozy? So I did quite a few edits from a shoot this afternoon of a stunning senior, posted them, and almost went to bed. Then I thought I’d check email on my desktop one last time, but also checked my post at the same time. AIGH! The color was awful. So . . . . if you saw Taylor up here and now she’s gone, it’s because my colors were so bad and I was rather mortified. Okay, a lot mortified.

Taylor, I’ll probably have your post up tomorrow evening instead of tonight. But they rock – they truly do, and I can hardly wait for you to see them. Even in the pouring rain you’re beautiful. Yeah, seriously.
